Art has always been an escape for African American teen, Nate. So when an opportunity arises for him to potentially be admitted into an art institute on a full scholarship, he sees this as his only option for a better life. He discovers, however, that his art book has been stolen by his own aunt. In order to get it back, he must overcome his abusive past. Will he make in time to his interview or will his fantasies of a better life only be a sketch in his imagination?
